Should Gohan have been angry at Goku?

I know that it's very rare for Gohan to get mad, and that Goku's a very likeable person in general, but do you think Gohan should've resented Goku at least a little bit for abandoning him and Chi-Chi in search of battles and training in Otherworld?

maybe a bit, gohan having to help take care of everyone in the house
and do a bunch of chores
but i think after it all he would be the one feeling guilty and resentment
hes the reason his father died in the first place and that in a way it made sense
that it was better for goku to be dead with villains appearing left and right at the time

Gohan would feel guilty, yeah, but Goku's justification for his actions is completely off-base. We saw in Trunks' future that him being dead wouldn't stop the Androids from being awoken. It also wouldn't stop Imperfect Cell from being completed. Mecha-Freeza still would've come to Earth, even if Goku had been dead.

All the villains that he attracted already had it out for him, so him staying dead wouldn't have any effect on that. Unless he's pretty much admitting that he just can't help himself when it comes to making enemies.

In fact, why would he leave his son, who doesn't like fighting at all, as the protector of the Earth. I would've thought that Piccolo grinding the message that Gohan doesn't like fighting like he does while Gohan was getting tortured by Cell would've left an impression, but I guess not.

Gohan has many very good reasons to resent Goku. Not the least of which was Goku almost guaranteeing his death at Cell's hands.

Yeah, the Otherworld thing counts too, not to mention him leaving Gohan and letting Piccolo do whatever he wants to him. Piccolo turned out to be not so bad, but Goku surely couldn't have known that.
I love building PCs. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask. I can help you with almost any kind of PC you'd want to build.

Yes, he really should have.

Goku was an enormous d*** in the Cell Saga and quite frankly deserved the same kind of beating Vegeta got, both were unlikable a***** at the time

Gohan understands Goku very well. İf it wasn't for the otherworld, they wouldn't survive the next event. Proven in the past, Gohan knows this too. Experience talks.

They were both under the assumption that Goku would stay dead permanently. Any other threat that posed itself to Earth would have to be dealt with by Gohan; he had no reason to believe that Goku would come back once the 1-year limit on the wish possibility passed.

A normal human being would develop a serious case of resentment, but this is DBZ and these guys are Saiyans.

I've never seen Goku get so much hate in my life. It's so funny, because it's either that or he's worshipped the hell out of. No middle ground.

In the manga/anime Goku is portrayed as a selfless saiyan who had nothing else in mind than his friends, family and Mother Earth. This is never contradicted, aside from an 'oops-moment' in the Boo arc. Why would Gohan be mad at Goku for always putting Earth ahead of anything else? By the time he flies off with Oob, his family is all grown up and can take care of themselves. He even says he'll visit.

Gohan knows Goku is a Saiyan, he knew that its a right thing for Goku to bring back to life due to the danger will caused. Everytime Gohan used to listen Goku's word except toying Cell which he blame himself for that.

So the fact that Goku's a saiyan gives him a freebie? No one gives Vegeta a freebie for acting like a jackass, despite it apparently being a genetic trait of Saiyans to be arrogant brutes.

Goku only brought trouble once with Raditz, everything after that had nothing to do with him, it would have happened anyway.

Gohan has every right to be pissed off with Goku's cavalier attitude of not giving a damn what so ever. I hate Vegeta, but even he knew when he had messed up and wronged his family. Goku never realizes this and most likely doesn't think he wronged them either.

Boo is a prime example of why Goku was wrong. It happened, even though Goku was dead and it would have happened even if he hadn't come back. Even if it didn't, there's no way that Goku would expect nothing to happen for the rest of Gohan's life, yet he still expects Gohan to fight and protect the Earth, even though it was made blatantly obvious that Gohan despises fighting. It's just a total ****-move that isn't justified in any way. In addition to that, despite him not being Dad of the year before, he ditches his family so he can train in Otherworld. He even says as much to Gohan, talking about training and fighting when he's meant to be saying goodbye.

Androids and Cell were created because Goku destroyed RRA, so that entire arc was his fault.
